Porterhouse in Mount Vernon

The service was great and so was the food and beer. Plan on coming back soon for date day with my husband. The Elk and Garlic and Brie Burger were amazing. Highly recommend.

This place is my lady and Is go to watering hole. It's a tavern so no kids as its 21+ but always makes for an amazing, cozy atmosphere. A great place to catch up or do business over a great beer, cider, or wine! Not to mention the food here is delicious and made with craft! Look for their Brewers Nights or Holiday Food Specials. The staff will take care of you. CHEERS!

Great service. Beer and wine establishment. Had the lamb burger( a little dry) and my husband had the fish and chips which was very good. A nice place for a quick bite before the theatre.

Love going here! Would probably give 4 ⭐️ because they only carry beer and limited wine, but I genuinely enjoy going here and the food is always great. Would be a regular if there was a full bar!

This place has a good beer selection. The food choices are generous and good tasting although perhaps not as well thought out as some other spots. All in all, a pleasant place to spend part of an evening.

The only way I can describe my experience here is "mediocre." Service was ok, food was meh. Burger was ok but kinda cold and totally dry. Didn't hate it, but won't be back.

Great atmosphere! Delicious food and drinks too! Had fish and chips with wild Alaska salmon, beer battered. Artisan beer and cider, I ordered honey lavender cider and it was wonderful! The menu is fun, they have elk, boar and lamb burgers. Fresh salads and tacos too.

I thoroughly enjoyed my steak salad at the PP. The steak was mouth wateringly delicious. I have only eaten here once and that was on a Saturday afternoon. The pub was selling the suds at a semi brisk pace and the place was a bit noisy. Not unexpected ("Pub" is in the name!) but I prefer quieter dining.

This place is one that I have genuinely tried to like. I’ve been here several times. The first time, four years ago the food was good and service was great. Every time since the service has been adequate but very very slow and the food has been just alright. This last time I gave it one final try and waited almost 45 minutes for food that seemed over cooked and very bland. Sorry to say I probably won’t be back.

Excellent service, great menu, good food, fun atmosphere, good gluten-free options. Lamb burger with mango chutney and feta cheese. Sweet potato fries and a sriracha aioli dipping sauce. Definitely delicious!

Great food great staff

I have only had three things there. The fish tacos were average, the fish and chips were soggy, but the fries were great and the crab cakes were excellent. One night we went they had cards to play and that was fun. The service was great.

Good Food and a Wide selection of Beer, Wine, and Cider. I wish they had more options for appetizers but i understand them wanting to keep the menu basic.

I LOVE the Porterhouse! I have come here for 12 years!!! The staff has always treated me like family. I always feel SAFE here. (Even when I am by myself). And as a female, I rely on the Porterhouse to be a place where I can feel safe. Thank you to all the staff there for always being so respectful, always watching out for me, making sure I am safe. The Porterhouse has above and beyond exceptional service!!! 😍

My favorite place to get a good meal and wine or beer when in Mount Vernon. Great place with great people and staff. I highly recommend stopping in any time you are in town.

We went for dinner, I had the Ceaser Salad I was not impressed they need a more flavorful dressing, croutons were soggy and no Parmesan cheese to speak of, The waitress came to clean our table and the bar rag should have been washed because it was a terrible odor left on our table

The name is a bit deceiving. They don't serve porter house steaks there, at least when I was there. The bar food is good though. They have a decent number of beer selections, but no whiskeys or other liquor.

The grilled cheese and tomato soup was perfecton a rainy Sunday afternoon. Gooey melted cheese.....

Have never had a bad meal.. Or a bad drink here!

Great place to stop in Mt Vernon. Good selection of rotating beers and decent food. They tend to have good specials up on the board when you walk in.

What a cute place with a surprisingly creative menu! Service is friendly enough and good was great. They even had choices for vegetarians which is important when we choose where we are eating! Not everyone wants meat and potatoes!We will definitely be back!

The bartender and the 2 waiters rarely smiled. When we first got there, we waited at a table but no waiter so went to the bartender to get us drinks, was told to wait for the waiter. The bartender was just standing around. Could have poured a couple of beers, but, no.. jalapeno-artichoke dip was good but don't believe we will comeback.

The food, tastes great and the beer selection on tap is full of great rotating craft brews. The service here was top-notch.

Pretty classic pub food with a lot of IPAs on tap. Nice natural lighting and big booths for groups.

Friendly And Attentive Staff. Ordered the Nachos with pulled pork and it was pretty good! Fish tacos were crispy like I like it.

The atmosphere was fun and relaxed. My waitress was nice and helpful. Food was great, the elk burger was so good. They had a nice selection of beers and drinks to choose from.

The food is spectacular! I'm told the beers are good too. Great pub food, with some really spectacular additions to the standards. Try the steak salad, or the pulled pork. Fish and chips gives a whole boatload of fries!

Was here recently with a friend for dinner. We both were greeted quickly by a friendly server and ordered beers. Great beer selection on tap. Beer arrived quickly and we ordered food. Here’s where it starts to go downhill. First There were flies everywhere and while I know that’s hard to control there are methods to make it bearable. I found them in my beer on my food all over! Second I ordered the elk burger and it was pretty dry, mediocre meat with a slight elk taste.

Pleasantly surprised. The food was very good. I highly recommend the Bora Bora burger. My only complaint is to offer regular ranch. Not everyone is into wasabi ranch.

Favorite stop in Mount Vernon. Amazing menu & awesome selection of beers or cider. Cozy feel, with lots of exposed wood & brick, plus a great view (thanks to floor to ceiling windows) of the Riverfront Park. Would highly recommend the PLT.

HIGHLY recommend the crab cakes, clam chowder & fish n’ chips. Very cute, cozy space. Plus, great beer options on tap. Kim was an awesome waitress.

Excellent Nitro Stout, with a wide selection of craft beers. Food was pretty good, although I was a little disappointed in the rib tips, not much meat and the ends were solid bone. The grilled salmon salad and sweet potato fries were excellent. Nice surroundings and friendly service I would definitely recommend

Nice staff and very good special pub food. One of my favorites is an order of tomato soup and a grilled cheese. Good to go to by yourself or with a group.

We have made the Porterhouse our neighborhood pub. Variety of beers on tap with plenty of local brews. Good food and love the casual, warm atmosphere for winter date nights. #livinglocal

It took over an hour to get our appetizers and then they were anything special. We ordered at 7pm and didn’t get appetizers until 8pm when there were only a few other people even in here. When we finally got our dinner it was unfortunately bland and uninspiring. They were training a new chief so perhaps that is why, but as of this experience I do not recommend this location for their food.
